Financial Controls for Non-Profit Associations

foundation to:
- maintain the association's checking and money market accounts
- reconcile bank accounts monthly
- provide monthly budget reports to the Board of Directors
- work with the association Treasurer to develop the annual operating budget
- maintain the non-profit association's reserve fund
- monitor investments and provide guidance and direction
- work closely with the association's accountant to file IRS forms 990 and IRS form 990-T
- help with the preparation of the association's annual audit
- work closely with the Treasurer and other volunteer leaders to support prudent fiscal management, as well as compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Practices and laws and regulations affecting tax-exempt organizations and tax returns
